I steer clear of CNN or FOX, since they have taken sides and don't provide the truth, but since the Haiti earthquake I've been spending a lot of time there. I was just in Port-Au-Prince in September - October 2009 and I recognize many of the areas that are being shown on CNN and FOX. I know how bad the situation was before the earthquake and can only imagine how dire it is now. I wonder how the structure of the Karibe Hotel http://www.karibehotel.com/karibehotel/ survived the quake, which is the hotel I stayed at.

I donated what I could to Wyclef Jean's, Yele Haiti, http://www.yele.org/. I know Yele Haiti has come under fire, but I took a chance on someone else, who I feel will make an impact. Many organizations have been in Haiti for years and it appears they haven't accomplished anything. Where has all the money gone? When does the corruption and greed stop? I guess time will tell how this event will change a country that never seemed to be able to get over the hump.
